Beat Your Woman and Land In jail-Lagos State's New Domestic Violence Law

It is now, officially, an offense for any man to hit his woman in Lagos State.
And it doesn't matter if you two are legally married, as long as you are living together in a home setting.

According to the deputy governor of Lagos State, Hon Joke Orelope-Adefulire, the new Domestic Violence Law protects women who are most times the target of violence in the home and also
safeguards the interest of men, children, servants, maids and everyone who may be a victim of domestic violence.

Here's what happens when there's a case of domestic violence:
  •  Remove the abuser from the home pending when the abuse is corrected
  •  Or remove the complainant from the residence and put in a protective home
  •  Provision of financial assistance by the state via the Office of the Public Defender/Legal Aid Council to victims of abuse who maybe financially unable to seek redress in court.
  •  The court can issue warrant of arrest and remand order

  1. Better bills to pass pass, rather than those abayas siting like ools planing to marry under age children...thumps up mr Gov.

  2. Women please be wise, don't let any man turn you to punching bag,a man that loves you won't dare lay his hands on you .
Africa Women,Lagos women, suffer no more.
